Join us at Cellar & Ale for our last Silent Book Club Matthews meeting for 2024! Cellar & Ale has much more than just wine and beer, including a book section aptly called The Ink Drinker. They also have a delicious menu with something for everyone.

B.K. Clark
B.K. Clark grew up in rural Pennsylvania surrounded by the PA Dutch, cornfields, and fresh country air. She spent most of her childhood with her feet in the dirt and her head in the clouds, spinning grand tales of people and adventures in faraway places, eventually learning to pen them onto paper. She now resides in North Carolina with her husband and four children. Our Beautiful Mess was released on May 28, 2024.
Christy Healy
Christy Healy is the author of the adult fantasy novel, UNBOUND. She has been a lifelong reader and writer, weaving stories of her own into the myths and tales of the Celtic, Indo-European, and Greco-Roman worlds that she has loved for so long. She lives in North Carolina with her children, her dog, and her husband.
How Silent Book Club Works
Silent Book Club is called that because it is an opportunity to enjoy quietly reading a book in a location different from your home, where no discussion is required. Some of the locations we visit might have background noise and conversations, but you do not have to participate in any conversations during your time with us. One favorite comment from a past event was, “It was like I took myself out on a date, and I LOVED it.”
Event Schedule
6:00-6:30 PM: Arrival, meet the authors, grab a sip, find a comfy place to read
6:30-7:30 PM: Quiet reading hour
7:30-8:00 PM: Continue reading, talk with others, author Q&A
Feel free to come and go as you please, staying for as little or as long as you like.
